EP 05 | Redefining Resilience ft. Nate Nichols

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back to another installment of Creatively Opposed.

In this week’s episode, I’m joined by Nate Nichols, the founder and creative director of the creative agency Palette Group. He has led strategy and execution for brands like Foot Locker, PUMA, Netflix, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Xbox, Billboard, Aperol Spritz and many more.

Nate and I connected on Twitter years ago, and finally got the chance to meet IRL this past summer at the Cannes Lions Festival. We have dubbed each other creative cousins and that is literally the effect Nate has on everyone in his presence. He is so nurturing and in this episode you’ll see all the ways he does just that. Apart from all of his amazing accolades, Nate’s on a mission to create spaces where people can show up and be their full selves, which is one of the reasons he co-founded Allyship & Action, a virtual summit series rooted in reversing systemic racism and discrimination in advertising.

We cover a lot in this episode, but Nate’s resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity needs to be studied. He was dealt a difficult set of circumstances, but has managed to navigate them all with so much grace and compassion. I left our conversation feeling so motivated and inspired, and I hope you feel the same after hearing it.

Please go take listen and let me know what you think! I love hearing your thoughts, so feel free to comment on this post and/or send me a message.

With curiosity,
Teneka
